Another month, another newsletter. Let’s get this one started off with some good brew news (it’s all good brew news though, don’t worry)!

The time has come. It’s been almost three years and we’re ready to GET WILD with the release of Coolship batch #1.  Brewed in the Belgian lambic tradition on December 19 2019, this beer sat overnight in our coolship and was inoculated with yeasts and bacteria found right here at Stillpoint Farm. It was then moved to barrel B-002 for a long slow fermentation, allowing a tart funky yet refreshing character to shine through. We’ve never had a beer like this, folks!  Featuring 100% malts, house-aged whole cone hops, and native yeasts and bacteria, this beer is so special that it is in-house pours only.  However, if you’re all really super duper nice to the brewers and bottling team, maybe we can be convinced to bottle some in special bottles for the holidays.

Now, let’s move on to the next amazing beer, shall we?  Green Farmer 21!  Have you had it yet?  You should!  An absolute classic of a pale ale brewed with 100% Maryland ingredients. I love all my Green Farmers, of course, but this one really approaches perfection. Featuring Bear Branch (hi Brad!) pale malt and golden honey malt, this one was tasty even before generously hopping with local cascade and chinook hops. ABV?  Perfect (5.5%). IBU?  Sublime (30)!

And with fall approaching, a new lager is in the tank!  Inspired by our brewer friend Henk in the Netherlands, this Herftsbock (or Dutchbok) is a perfect autumn seasonal. A nice dark lager with a delicious malty backbone hopped with local cascade and brewer’s gold.  We think Henk will be proud of us!  We hope to drop this beauty around the first of October.

Finally, our cask program is back and stronger than ever!  You all have been drinking it up, so more is being made almost weekly. I’ve done some wild and crazy things with Green Farmer in casks, and some delicious IPAs, stouts, and reds are coming soon to a Milkhouse near you.

Cheers!
