It’s May! The Monocacy hops are up, the veggie seeds are started, the ground is tilled as we await the final frost around Mother’s Day.

To celebrate the season, we’re proud to announce the newest wild ale in our vintage sour series, a Bière de Garde Gold brewed in 2018 and aged in French oak. The Garden is delicious and clocks in at 6.8% abv.

This well aged beauty takes a step back from the tartness of its predecessor, instead focusing on tropical fruit, funky Brettanomyces and oak.

The playful nose is reminiscent of enjoying sour candy in a rustic log cabin, giving way to flavors of ambrosia fruit salad and vinous notes of French oaks and red wine.

This month will also see the return of our Kölsch, which has been brewed with Monocacy hops for the first time ever. It is going to be a good one!

Homestate Hefeweizen will be returning to taps this month as well.

Also premiering this month will be Mayta’s Peruvian White Corn Chicha Jora. This exceptional and unique lager was brewed with toasted chulpe corn from Peru, and lightly salted with Peruvian salt sourced from the Sacred Valley. Crisp, delicious, and unlike anything we’ve brewed before.  This will be on tap exclusively at Mayta’s Peruvian Cuisine in Frederick, Maryland and the Milkhouse Brewery taproom.  5.5% abv and 12 IBU.
