It seriously feels like I *just* wrote the January 2024 brew news, but here we are in October already. What a year it has been.
A year full of beer brewed with that new old favorite – Monocacy hops! And we’ve got a couple more up our sleeves for 2024 that should release this month.
First is our Catoctin Heritage Rye Kölsch. Like the Märzen and the Vienna Lager before it, we feel as though this classic recipe was improved by the use of Monocacy hops. The way this hop plays with locally grown and malted rye is fantastic, emphasizing the spice in both ingredients.
The second is yet another delicious take on a cream ale, The Local Grainsaw Massacre. Brewed with copious amounts of malted heirloom Bloody Butcher corn just in time for Halloween! If you were a fan of Stake the Farm, Catoctin Heritage Cream Ale, or Too Many Cooks, this one is sure to please! A little stronger, a little crispier, and a little hoppier. We can’t wait!
Also, Red Eye Porter is coming early this year! It’s in the tank carbonating and conditioning and should see release early in October. Because, let’s face it, none of us want to wait for November when it’s been so cool and rainy already. Dark, roasty, and delicious as always.
See you at the Milkhouse Brewery taproom, folks!
